Webb’s Bakery Rye – Listed Building Decorating
We are proud of the projects we are asked to work on, especially when they are brimming with character and history. When researching more about this bakery, we found a wonderful tribute to Alan Webb who sadly passed away in 2020. As well as volunteering for the Ambulance service, Alan and his wife Janet ran the bakery at The Windmill in Rye before purchasing Ye Old Tuck Shoppe in Market Street to run as a smaller enterprise.

Ceilings, Floors, Corners & Doors…
We did a full redecoration of the building, including walls, ceilings, woodwork and beams. You can view more of our beam renovation work here.
We used a team of expert plasterers to pay attention to some of the blown and broken down existing plaster – they had to use lime plaster in keeping with the Listed Building regulations.
We then painted with a breathable earth born paint.
There are some exciting developments within the house. An old inglenook fireplace has been spotted behind an old stud wall, new passages and new beams.
